A PLEA FOR HELP

Something weird is happening.  Every time I access Google's Blogger, to post something on my blog or just to check comments, etc., an extremely irritating banner for PacMan pops up and obscures part of the screen.  I cannot figure out how to get rid of the damned thing, which I hate.  Does anyone know what is going on?

I don't know what's going on, but I would recommend Flashblock if a flash-based ad is distracting your work.

flashblock for Firefox browser
flashblock for chrome

You might have a malicious piece of ad-ware--it doesn't sound like the kind of thing which google would incorporate into their blogging software.

Ad-Aware is a dependable, free program for cleaning out these kinds of things: http://www.lavasoft.com/

I agree with Adam, you've likely been infected by a programme that sneaks on your machine to display ads at you. Running Ad-Aware should solve that.

You also get add-ons for your web-browser that blocks that and any other ads from running. I don't know what browser your use (likely to be either Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome), but if you run Firefox you can use AdBlock, and AdBlock Plus (no relation) for Chrome. I don't leave home without it.
