Lord, it is taking me forever, but it is a complicated idea, and requires a very great deal of explaining.Robert Paul Wolffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11970360952872431856noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5687347459208158501.post-48612730553214060802013-02-13T15:30:39.849-05:002013-02-13T15:30:39.849-05:00I think I see what you're slowly driving at wi...I think I see what you're slowly driving at with this series, Professor Wolff (though I'm prepared to be wrong, of course). This quotation from Kalecki may get at the same point:

"The tragedy of investment is that it causes crisis because it is useful. Doubtless many people will consider this paradoxical. But it is not the theory which is paradoxical, but its subject—the capitalist economy."Willhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14943136764424893492noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5687347459208158501.post-18538250429003395062013-02-13T04:49:26.044-05:002013-02-13T04:49:26.044-05:00Chris, I will take a look at Kliman when I get aro...Chris, I will take a look at Kliman when I get around to it, but I think I already know what his line is. Notice that I do NOT say that Marx contradicts himself. Quite to the contrary. And although I trhink the Labor theory of Value is the wrong way to capture Marx's correct insights into capitalism, as I shall explain shortly, I am as enthusiastic in my admoration for Marx as I imagine Kliman is. Just be patient.Robert Paul Wolffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11970360952872431856noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5687347459208158501.post-11072521311698545182013-02-12T21:57:42.148-05:002013-02-12T21:57:42.148-05:00Damn, I really hate to keep stressing this point, ...Damn, I really hate to keep stressing this point, but so many of your criticisms against Marx are addressed by Andrew Kliman and Alan Freeman...All this talk about "marx couldn't have known this" due to various mathematical tools he was lacking, are refuted.

As a Marxist, you kind of have a duty to read their work...Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08250295324149056708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5687347459208158501.post-31437579314445201162013-02-12T21:53:32.013-05:002013-02-12T21:53:32.013-05:00Damn, I really hate to keep stressing this point, ...Damn, I really hate to keep stressing this point, but so many of your criticisms against Marx are addressed by Andrew Kliman and Alan Freeman...All this talk about "marx couldn't have known this" due to various mathematical tools he was lacking, are refuted.

As a Marxist, you kind of have a duty to read their work...Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08250295324149056708noreply@blogger.com
