I just finished watching lectures 2 a...Off subject. I just finished watching lectures 2 and 3 on Kant. You say in lecture 3 that the idea that what is seen through the senses and what is known in the mind (as two different functions) was totally dumped for newer, more efficient philosophy. The problem with Kant and his peers dumping the argument is that it is still valid--just as the 4 humors (blood, phlegm, yellow bile, and black bile) are still relevant to some circles of eastern and Greek medicine today. I wrote a paper called The Anti-Prolegomena at my website that I try to vet every once in a while. Since no one is going to read it I'll try to summarize my points. I said in it that since the senses are like filters, the mind itself cannot be a filter too. Because that would mean double chaotic filtering. So there is a dual interaction between the 'association cortex' and the senses. Objects conform themselves to the senses while the 'association cortex' conforms itself to those objects that get past the senses.
