I would suggest that you set one up. I think you might be surprised at how many people would donate if word got out on the internet about the great work you are doing. Many political candidates now use Paypal for small donations and there would be virtually no costs, the only time there would be a fee imposed would be the small Paypal charged by Paypal for handling the money. And it would allow people like me and millions of others to make a donation such as each is able to afford. The $50 dollar minimum would not be necessary since there would be no cost in setting up such a paypal program except for perhaps setting up a separate bank account to handle the donations from Paypal.

Many liberal bloggers actually make a small income this way and I think since your donations would be to a charity, there could be a serious amount of money donated to this effort through outreach on the internet.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5687347459208158501.post-38053062534884129072010-06-25T09:49:21.122-04:002010-06-25T09:49:21.122-04:00When there is the need there will be many happy re...When there is the need there will be many happy returns. Thank you immensely and please, if you haven't visited Bad Attitudes blog and voted, please make your vote count. A wise grandfather is counting on your support. And this groupie promises to repay the voting favor if it is needed for purposes of nepotism and looking out for family.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5687347459208158501.post-57640889715974615992010-06-24T23:28:17.126-04:002010-06-24T23:28:17.126-04:00Mr. Wolff, to see what all the following carry on...Mr. Wolff, to see what all the following carry on is about, please go to a wonderful blog I read daily which needs your help, Jerome Doolittle's Bad Attitudes. Readers of this blog who are fans of Mr. Wolff's sons because Mr. Wolff tells us what great sons they are, as my father did the same about me and because I was never lucky enough to have children of my own so must help others by proxy, should likewise check what this comment is all about by going to this link at Jerome Doolittle's Bad Attitudes blog. Let freedom ring and let all sons and daughters and grand daughters never disappoint any father or grandfather. We're counting on your blog to help carry us through this race to victory. And you can count on the favor being returned in like manner should your son or granson or grand daughter likewise need the help of another man or woman's blog to help carry the day in any election for Mr. Wolff's sons or granchildren. Mr. Wolff's blog is written by a man of good intentions and great scholarship and writing whose blog I enjoy greatly and who can count on my vote in any subsequent online election for any son, grandson, gradnaughter or even nieces and nephews.

http://badattitudes.com/MT/archives/2010/06/get_out_and_vot.html

********************I haven't had a chance to review this wonderful post but I will in time but I have a small favor to ask of you since I am a loyal reader of this blog and the blog that sent me here, Bad Attitudes. And Bad Attitudes needs your help. My comment is below:

All right you lazy readers of this woefully under recognized blog, do what I did and make your vote count. Bethany needs your vote. Now click and vote. It's a simple process but Bethany needs your help. I may be a Doolittle groupie, but I trust the man enough to recognize that he would show no favoritism towards anyone just because they are a granddaughter or other relative. I'm including you too, Robert Paul Wolff, I'm sure you are just as unbiased about your sons as Doolittle is about his granddaughter so when I post this in the comments section of your blog, do unto other liberals as you would have them do unto you. I trust you too about your sons. In return for that I'm asking you to trust Doolittle who has honored you with a link to your website. So make your vote count! The elder Doolittle needs your help!
Posted by Buck at June 24, 2010 11:16 PM

***************************Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5687347459208158501.post-47224803815227464022010-06-24T11:48:52.614-04:002010-06-24T11:48:52.614-04:00I'm another RPCV and I found myself writing gr...I'm another RPCV and I found myself writing grants, even though I had no previous grant-writing experience. Again, I feel as though that work, although it was outside my primary assignment, was probably the most tangible in terms of on-going usefulness.

It has always been a little disheartening to me that there seems to be little, if any, correlation between thinking deeply about philosophical things (this applies particularly for philosophers working in ethics & political philosophy) and actually working toward any kind of change. It is heartening to read about Prof. Wolff's efforts in this matter. :)Carissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17511199236953537323noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5687347459208158501.post-73496835967188690612010-06-22T08:44:19.612-04:002010-06-22T08:44:19.612-04:00It seems that Rawls, like Isaiah Berlin before him...It seems that Rawls, like Isaiah Berlin before him, was much more into political theory than he was into political activism.

Well, everyone is entitled to one's own taste...David Pilavinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05936888349199350870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5687347459208158501.post-8241225472268469712010-06-22T07:27:03.624-04:002010-06-22T07:27:03.624-04:00That's interesting about the grant writing. When I was in the Peace Corps several years ago that was something I ended up doing, to my surprise a bit, since I didn't have any significant experience in it. But, I had more than the people I was helping, and so was able to help a fledgling women's center and an English department get grants. It might have been the most substantial work I did, in terms of quantifiable help to people.

On the fund raising, it is quite a complex field. You'd mentioned some time ago how Brandise seemed to have everything named after someone. It seems that people really like this. It might be worth considering finding some of your most reliable fairly generous donors and offering them the chance to endow a "named scholarship" of some sort, either via a bigger grant or a re-occurring one of some sort. I don't know if it would work, but it wouldn't surprise me if that sort of thing let you get a somewhat larger steady flow from some people.Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01446428606119200980noreply@blogger.com
