I didn't expect him to win, so it's a very nice surprise. It was an election with no national and no non-judicial state-wide elections, so I'm glad to see that the "right" people turned out. It's hard to know who to vote for in these things. PA doesn't do a good job of providing information about judicial candidates, for example. (Colorado does the best of places I've lived.) I was fortunate to have a good friend from white water kayaking who is a Philadelphia public defender, and so am typically able to outsource my questions about judicial elections to him.
