As for Trump, they'd have to force his resignation somehow, maybe with a literal pistol to his head. That's not very democratic, but it beats nuclear war.

If I can imagine the officer refusing in order from Trump, then the generals, who are directly involved in the chain of command, most probably have given the idea a thought too.s. wallersteinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17448905469871566228noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5687347459208158501.post-78849957148389607202017-08-25T09:36:44.914-04:002017-08-25T09:36:44.914-04:00That would, I suspect, be a court martial offence ...That would, I suspect, be a court martial offence on the part of the generals.Robert Paul Wolffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11970360952872431856noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5687347459208158501.post-32698530245257269142017-08-25T07:02:39.509-04:002017-08-25T07:02:39.509-04:00What if the generals tell the officer with the lau...What if the generals tell the officer with the launch codes to refuse any order from Trump unless they ok it first?s. wallersteinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17448905469871566228noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5687347459208158501.post-10901910641500071072017-08-25T01:52:09.712-04:002017-08-25T01:52:09.712-04:00Howard, I admit I have no idea why republicans thi...Howard, I admit I have no idea why republicans think the way they do but I really can't see either McConnell or Ryan being all that happy with Trump. The guy is a loose cannon, and loose cannons might hurt your own side sometimes. And if they are nuclear they might just end your side and every other side. I think they are almost as scared as I am, but I don't know. If McConnell or Ryan feels his own seat is danger (Ryan only; McConnell was just re-elected) or their majorities threatened, I believe they'd turn against Trump very quickly. Trump's antics haven't gone that far yet, but he's moving in the right direction. I just saw an online report that he has now personally attacked 21 of the 52 Republican senators. I hope he keeps it up.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01601151117159492920noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5687347459208158501.post-2005966640193954282017-08-24T15:00:42.738-04:002017-08-24T15:00:42.738-04:00David- if Trump is bad for business, he's fire...David- if Trump is bad for business, he's fired.
