As Susie and I were walking along Boulevard St. Germain today,I saw a man dressed in white linen slacks and a white linen shirt with a collar that I have always called a Nehru collar, the entire outfit accented with a colorful scarf. I thought, "That would be a good look for me," so off I went to BHV Homme to see whether they could outfit me. My French is shaky, but I was able to ask a saleslady about a chemise with a col Nehru. She looked mystified. Finally, I managed to convey what I meant, and she said, "Ah, bien sure, un col Mao." Apparently in Paris, Mao trumps Nehru. So much for the Unaligned Third World.
After all of that, they didn't have one.

But are your readers prepared for your "new look"!!!!!!
I cannot be a slave to expectations. I must follow my muse.
If you're looking to try a good restaurant in Paris, the Times reviewed the best places to get steak frites in the city: http://travel.nytimes.com/2007/04/29/travel/29Choice.html

un col Mao
Just so long as they didn't fit you for the matching cap!
