QVELLING

For those who did not see the DADT Repeal signing ceremony, check out the President's website. There are three pictures. The first is Obama. The third is Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mullen. The second is my son Tobias. Need I say more? Here is the URL:

  1. Bob-

Thanks for the link. All I was able to get this afternoon on my computer were excerpts of the signing ceremony. I've now managed to watch the whole thing. Very moving and inspiring.

And yes, your son is indeed handsome, poignant with the tears, but then again, that was an unusually good-looking audience there today. I dread seeing the attendees at the signing ceremony for New START...

  2. Not only were they good looking. hey were all in terrific shape!

I would imagine the whole old Council on Foreign relations crew will come out for the START signing -- Kissinger, Bzrzinski, Albright, the ghost of Richard Holbrooke -- a collection of sober, serious, scholarly, eminently respectable war criminals. Sigh. What a strange world we live in.

  3. Congratulations to your son. Is he affiliated with an organization?

If he's been working on this since the nineties, he deserves a break if he wants it!

  4. Tobias is a senior Professor of Law at the University of Pennsylvania, active on many fronts in the fight for gay and lesbian rights. In his day job, so to speak, he is a scholar of Civil Procedure, although he has also published on the 13th Amendment and other subjects. During the 2008 campaign, he chaired the advisory committee to the Obama campaign on LGBT issues.
