TRUMPED AGAIN

No sooner did I post a comment comparing the current Repubican presidential hopefuls to clowns piling out of a tiny car in the circus [and thank you, Andrew Blais, for identifying the traditional music for that old-time event] than I see everyone invoking that metaphor [and pretty clearly not because of me.] I really hate to appear commonplace, but I suppose the comparison is too delicious to miss. The latest speculation, by the way, for those of you do not follow these things, is that if Romney gets the nomination, trump may run a third party campaign. If only ...

  1. It is interesting how metaphors travel. I mentioned your piece of the 19th on that very day, and I heard it repeated back to me almost verbatim two days later. On Googling "republican clowns", one finds:
