THE "YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS STUFF UP" DEPARTMENT

During the great "budget" debate, Senator Jon Kyl got up on the floor of the Senate and said that 90% of what Planned Parenthood does is to perform abortions. When it was pointed out that this was about as wrong as one could possibly be about the organization, his office, over the phone said, "his remark was not intended to be a factual statement, but rather to illustrate that Planned Parenthood, an organization that receives millions of dollars in taxpayer funding, does subsidize abortions." For a long time now, I have thought that Kyl was giving Jeff Sessions a run for his money as stupidest person in the Senate. With this latest effort, he may have surged ahead to an unbeatable lead.
