THE SESQUICENTENNIAL OF DAS KAPITAL

Capital was published in 1867, so we are two years away from the sesquicentennial of its appearance [the whole point of this post is to allow me to use the word sesquicentennial, for which there is very little call usually.]  Clearly, a celebration is called for.  Has anyone heard about plans for same?

  1. I learned the word "sesquicentennial" when I was 10, because 1959 was the sesquicentennial of Lincoln's birth. We celebrated it, in my elementary school, with a pageant in which I played Sumner or maybe Seward. Also, that was the year that the one-cent coin changed its design on the reverse to put the Lincoln Memorial there. (Sorry, this comment is not about Marx at all.)

  2. That's ok. Any legitimate use of "sesquicentennial" is to be praised. :)
