As I have already observed, the Wilmsen book, Land Filled With Flies, is so rich and complex that I despair of doing it justice in the lectures I am now beginning to prepare. If some of you are following along with me and are willing to do some reading, could you at least perhaps read the seven page Introduction? I obviously cannot stand in front of the camcorder and simply read all seven pages, but I am sorely tempted. If you do just that, it will very much enrich your understanding of my lectures.

It may be worth pointing out that pp2-7 of the Introduction to Wilmsen's book (and indeed the immediately following sections) can be read on the "Limited Preview" version on Google Books
https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=Zr783379T4UC&printsec=frontcover&dq=wilmsen+land+flies&hl=en&sa=X&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q=wilmsen%20land%20flies&f=false
The Google Books link can also be accessed via the University of Chicago Press webpage for the book
http://press.uchicago.edu/ucp/books/book/chicago/L/bo3774732.html
The very first page of the intro is unfortunately not included in the Google Limited Preview. However, the first page does come up on the Amazon preview feature for the book. Amazon's preview breaks off after only a few pages, but between the two sources it should be possible to read all of the recommended extract.
