GOOD NEWS AND BAD NEWS

The good news is that the two little batobuses, Jean Gabin and Yves Montand, are still there along the Seine at the back of the lineup of batobuses.

The bad news is that even here in Paris, Trump's face is on the TV.

I am struggling not to obsess and worry about Clinton's manifest awfulness as a candidate and as a prospective President.

Paupiettes Provencales, leeks, and French beans this evening for dinner, washed down with a Beaune de Venise for me and a Sancerre blanc for Susie.

  1. If you run into Sartre, give him my regards. Thanks.

  2. The meal sounds wonderful. For "provencal" will you use tomatoes and olives as well as, perhaps, herbes de provence? Also, do you prepare the leeks as a separate vegetable?

  3. alas<David Palmeter, I am ashamed to admit I bought the paupiettes already made at the bucherie, but I did serve the leeks, sauteed until they caramelized, as a separate dish.

  4. You prepare those French dishes yourself?

    That's impressive. That takes philosophy.

  5. Unfortunately, neither my neighborhood Safeway nor Whole Foods supplies them. I just may try doing it myself one of these days.
