On various occasions, I have told the story of the Columbia University undergraduate who taught me, back in the 60s, the importance of knowing "which side you are on," or, as I put it, who your comrades are. Both in the comments section and in emails, I have this day been reminded that I do indeed have comrades. It gives me strength and solace.
