I created a group in Gmail for all the peoole who say they want me to contact them, and now I cannot figure out how to add them to the group or how to send a message to the whole group once I have.  Somebody?

  1. Dear Professor,

This was just a quick search, but I'd try:

Click Gmail at the top-left corner of your Gmail page, then choose Contacts.
Select the contacts in the Contacts list.
    Click the Groups button .
Select the name of the groups you'd like to add these contacts to, or select Create new to create a new group.

I'm sure there's someone who could tell you better.... but you said "somebody" :)

  2. Yes, you have to add us to your list of individual email addresses first, then you can move us to the group.

  3. You may want to use google groups instead of gmail groups. I manage a mailing list for a nonprofit, and we encountered problems once our list reached 200 to 300 members. If I remember correctly, gmail would not send out more than 500 messages per day (for instance, no more than 2 messages in a day to 250 members). That was more than a year ago, so perhaps google has lifted that limit.

Google groups also have the advantage that members can remove themselves without having to bother you.
