OUT OF THE LOOP
On what may be the most consequential day in American politics since the Saturday Night Massacre, I am about to leave for a long planned trip to DC to see my sister. Talk about planning! I shall be back late tomorrow.
After my first unoriginal thought that the FBI was getting too close for comfort, it occurred to me that the Trump administration intends to install an FBI director who will reopen the Clinton email server investigation. This would serve the usual diversionary political ends as the Trump administration machinates in darkness (Steve Bannon said that "darkness is good"), and it could fulfill a campaign promise to go after Clinton, which Trump backpedaled, perhaps thinking that Republican control of both houses meant certain legislative victory for Trumpcare and tax reform.
