PROGRESS REPORT
I spent all yesterday packing books. At this moment, I am up to 43 boxes, and I think another 20 or 25 should do it. When I finished packing the last of the books by and on Marx [4 boxes] I had a tiny bit of space left in the last one, so I used it to pack my copy of the King James Bible. It seemed appropriate somehow, but I shall be sorry to be without the Good Book for two months.
I gave several hundred books away to a local bookseller when I realized my academic ambitions were delusional. (No doubt this is evident from my comments here.)
ReplyDeleteQuite to the contrary! Your comments have been interesting and suggestive. But far be it from me to stifle an eleemosynary impulse. :)
ReplyDeleteIn that case, I'm giving away even more books. Shelf space is limited (wall-to-wall at this point) and they seem to replicate. One of the latest was Marx's Inferno. I'm retaining the 25 or so books on your recommended list.
