Amazon opened a brick and mortar (or rather, steel and glass) bookstore on the fourth floor of the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle in Manhattan, a few blocks from my apartment. Whole Foods is in the basement. I'm beginning to wonder whether Jeff Bezos had the Amazon rain forest army ants in mind (consciously or otherwise) when he named his company.
