ONE WONDERS

In Defense of Anarchism was translated into Catalan in 2012.  Five years later, Catalonia votes for independence.  A coincidence?  :)

  1. I'll admit that, if it were me, I'd hope this wasn't the case, given that this seems to me to be an extreme fuck-up (to use a technical term) that will leave most people worse off and will perpetuate several injustices.

  2. Sir,

I'd advise you to see a lawyer immediately.

The Spanish government has discovered you being the prime mover of the Catalan independence movement and is charging you with incitement to high treason and subversion of the Constitutional Order and of the authority of His Majesty the King. An international arrest warrant in your name has been issued to Interpol and all of your properties within the European Union will automatically be confiscated to the Spanish crown with the next 24 hours.

The crimes of which you are accused carry a mandatory life sentence under Spanish law, although the deputies of the Partido Popular (Popular Party), the rightwing party of
Primer Minister Mariano Rajoy, are calling for the reestablishing the death penalty for such offenses as you have been charged with. However, under the statues of the European Union, the death penalty cannot be applied in your case.

  3. In Defense of Anarchism was originally published in English. Some years later Rick Perry was toying with the idea of Texas seceding from the Union. Hardly a coincidence.
