  1. For your well-deserved amusement---a recent Facebook post: "Alright, I admit it. The pressure is too great. The shame weighs too heavily. It wasn't just one book---Violette Leduc's, "La Batarde", that I stole from libraries and book-stores in the year 1983. No, no, no. Innumerable were the thefts. I was, I suspect for a time, Central Florida's foremost Artful Dodger of book thievery. Robert Paul Wolff's, "Kant's Theory of Mental Activity", comes to mind. A most valuable acquisition. Quite to my taste---and who better suited than I to rumble it's meaning? It was my birth-right, so I reasoned, this spanking new book of academic philosophy. (it was new to me at the time). Nevermind, for now, the months lost to incomprehension. The point is, that recently I stumbled upon Robert Paul Wolff's blog, "The Philosopher's Stone". Check it out.

    Nothing lately from Maureen Dowd?

    I am brief - for a change.
