AN IMPORTANT ESSAY ON IRAN
My old friend, William Polk, has just circulated an important essay on Trump's policy toward Iran. I have uploaded it to box.net, accessible via the link on this page, where it is listed as "Essay on US." I strongly recommend it.
Polk does not mention two extremely important reasons for the animosity of Trump towards Iran, namely the very close relationships he has with Netanyahu’s Israel and the SaudIs. Both would like nothing better than for the United States to attack Iran not because Iran poses a serious military threat to them but because they do not want Iran to be a significant rival Mideast power.
ReplyDeleteThere was a time before when the people of Iran (also known as Persia) were adored by the West. Read Isaiah 45, Xenophon's Education of Cyrus, and CH. 14 of The Prince. Once the Shah was deposed, relations with the West went to garbage. And they're still flying the Shah's F-14s as a symbol of hatred for the U.S.. And those F-14s are older than the movie Top Gun which came out in 1986. One wonders where they get the parts to fix those planes???
ReplyDeleteI also hope there is no war in the future between the U.S. and Iran...
