RESPONSE TO JERRY FRESIA
Jerry, the line you recall is from the first page of the second chapter of Moneybags Must Be So Lucky: "When the head of Europe's most glorious king fell into a basket and the heavens did not open, the aura of monarchy was forever dissipated."
Thanks. Great line. And "forever dissipated"...too...great phrasing. Understatement done so powerfully. I could almost hear the thud of a head falling into a basket. Also the notion of a basket is somehow incongruous. Talk about strange times in which to live!
