GOOD NEWS PERSONAL
Susie will be vaccinated on January 16 and I will be vaccinated on January 18. Who knows? Some Sunday in March we might go out to a restaurant for dinner! It does not get any better than that.
OTOH, if Pelosi is unable to wring Trump's warm, living fingers from the nucular codes before he decides to take us all out in a blaze of Gloria ... Well, all I am saying is "Don't count your chickens before they hatch!"
Great news! Amy has had her first shot a few days ago. The CDC has a good follow-up system in place in order to track side effects.. Amy has been getting emails almost every day since the shot. I’d bet you and Suzie will be getting texts or emails as well.
I am scheduled for my first COVID vaccine shot (Pfizer) on January 19th. The key challenge is getting the rest of the country (and world) vaccinated before we can return to any semblance of normality (whatever that means). Texas alone has a population of 30 million people. They all need to be vaccinated (twice). Think that will happen anytime soon? This is the immediate national challenge of the Biden Administration. If they can pull this off, it will demonstrate that the government can be a force for public good. I for one hope that it is successful.
I am glad to hear it. While Australia has generally done well in relation to Covid (aided by natural and cultural advantages, no doubt) it is moving very slowly with vaccines. Originally, the plan was to not start vaccinating until March, to "be cautious" in relation to side effects or something. Now, supposedly, we'll start (start!) in Feb. That is a bit better, but given that we have had new outbreaks in Sydney, spreading to Melbourne, and at least a couple of cases of the more infectious "UK" variant in Brisbane, the "cautious" approach seems more foolish than wise to me.

Congratulations! Glad you two were placed near the beginning of the line.
ReplyDeleteThat's great news! Really happy to hear that.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to allow time for the immunity to build up after the injections - even the second - before going to parties!

ReplyDeleteProust: they change the codes every day. They're not going to take orders from him anyway.

This is, in effect, a military coup. Better then a deranged president blowing up the world but still a coup.
Since when were we going to be nuking anybody in the next two weeks anyway?
