CORRECTION

My former student visited the set of the movie and met Vera Farmiga herself, so that reduces by one the number of degrees separating me from George Clooney.  [She also several times picked up and held Farmiga's little baby.  Does that count for anything?]

Degrees of separation is very sensitive to what counts as no-degrees. In the Kevin Bacon game it's the relatively non-vague appeared in a movie with. Once ate in the same restaurant as seems too weak, though perhaps not as weak as shared a planet with. Perhaps had physical contact or prolonged propinquity with is better.
