Sigh! Here I am again in Paris, and my Internet access does not work in the apartment. I am planning to commit suicide, just as soon as I finish making my signature cuisses de canards for my friends next Tuesday.
In the meanwhile, I can report that Jean Gabin and Yves Montand are still in their favored places on the Seine [they are batobuses, for those who are new to this blog.]
More anon.

Speaking of suicide, can you explain why the French <> is redundantly reflexive?
Huh. I had put "se suicider" in between the which-a-may-call-em inequailty signs.
A cute story to sheer you up:

Honestly, I do love the little devils: crows, ravens and -- my favorites -- the magpies.
Richard: The blog permits use of HTML tags within comments. Those tags (=formatting commands) are distinguished from text by being enclosed in those greater-than and less-than symbols. So, you can't use them. (Well, you can, if you "escape" them, but that's a long story.)
