BERNIE AND THE BLACK VOTE

According to this piece, which accords with my memory, Bernie did slightly better with young Black voters than Clinton, but lost overwhelmingly among older Black voters -- who are a good deal more likely to vote.  I do not think that is a deal breaker against Trump, for various reasons, but it is a problem.

I believe older African-Americans remember the good, prosperous reign of President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton during most of the 1990s. And the only "real war" that went awry was two day shootout between U.S. troops and gangsters in Somalia. It makes me wonder why Hillary never really pressed the facts of the great prosperity that she and her husband created during most of the '90s in her campaign speeches. For me the '90s were my version of the 1950s. To experience the 1990s all over again would have been sweet. Although, perhaps some, or maybe even many, would disagree.
