Well, I complained, and in response I got a flood of thoughtful, intelligent, provocative responses.  Maybe the Good Book is right.  There is vastly more in your comments than I can talk about in a single post, so what I hope to do is to spend the next several days responding to one or another of the things you all said, as a way of exploring in more depth the question, What would socialism be like?  I am going to try to avoid boiler plate responses or pat phrases, and instead dig deeper in a specific way into some of what was suggested.  Thank you all for doing me the great courtesy of sharing with me and the readers of this blog thoughts that are obviously deeply held and the product of long reflection.  I know there are only a few of us, and Lord knows we are not going to elect any public officials with our few votes, or overthrow even a local town council.  But we need to start somewhere.
