The disintegration of the Trump presidency is now taking
place with such speed that by the time I return from Paris things may be
totally changed. How will the world ever
survive without my commentary? I begin to appreciate the old Chinese curse, "May you live in interesting times."

:"Trump whines America needs a parade
like every tin-pot thug and potentate
as if the world's impressed by his charade
believing that's what makes a nation "great".
Now, Putin boasts his missiles rule the skies;
no shield can thwart them, once they've left their base
inciting huge expense with kopeck lies.
There is no winner in this stupid race.
De-escalation's hard to sell to boys
whose hormones often overwhelm their brain
so easily seduced by shiny toys,
concerned they might look weak, if they act sane.
One's lean and mean, one's flabby and obese
and neither's man enough to keep the Peace.
Inspired by levinebar:
On Mueller and anxious optimism (from Love's Labour Lost):
BIRON
Well, say I am; why should proud summer boast
Before the birds have any cause to sing?
Why should I joy in any abortive birth?
At Christmas I no more desire a rose
Than wish a snow in May's new-fangled mirth;
But like of each thing that in season grows.
So you, to study now it is too late,
Climb o'er the house to unlock the little gate.
There's nothing wrong with the presidency that a community organizer couldn't fix.
