HUME WILL HAVE TO WAIT

I have some sort of cold or infection in my throat that makes my dulcet tones sound like the notes of a subdued foghorn.  I taught yesterday, with the aid of cough drops and water, but I do not want to be immortalized on YouTube in my current condition.

I shall drink hot tea and wait for the Iowa results.

Rx: add Irish whiskey and honey to your tea.

If the same unlikely delay in voting results were to occur in some 3rd world nation or in Putin's Russia, especially if the probable winner were a challenger to the establishment like Sanders, we would instantly suspect foul play by the power elite, wouldn't we?

Tea is good. I hope you feel better. Irish whiskey ain't bad either. But I wouldn't put it in my tea. No sense in wasting it.

No, no, no. Not whiskey---try a half a joint. Nine out of ten Commentators on your blog prefer it (well, that's an informal sample) (do, however, stay away from the brand of herb known as, "California Thunder-fuck"). Get well soon.

No, no, no. Not whiskEy--try whisky, the real Scottish stuff in honour of Hume. Unless, of course, all the whisky and whiskEy makers, Scottish as well as Irish, have gone high tech and are now trying to manufacture their stuff using some new-fangled app some young conceited bunch of geniuses (or is it 'genii'?) have dreamed up. Get well soon

Please get well soon. お大事に as we say here in Japan.
As we're all putting our two cents worth in, the recommendation from my beloved 90 year old grandmother, raw garlic. Bad as it sounds but it'll put you right quite quickly.

The MSM and DNC have had it out for Sanders since 2015. Hell, even AOC waited until Oct 2019 to finally endorse Bernie, and she claims that he's the reason she got into politics in the first place.

...and wait and wait for the Iowa results. Truly, we live in a technological Dark Ages.

A little etymological digression: the word whiskey is derived from the Gaelic 'Uisce Beatha (water of life). The Gaelic word for water morphed into the English word for whiskey.

It's always cheaper in Chinatown ($6, half the price minus tax), but this is a great/famous herbal syrup for sore throat relief:

Quite sad that we are still waiting on Iowa. Maybe the US should overthrow itself to implement free elections.

What do I know about Scottish or Irish Gaelic despite the fact that some of my 2 x great grandparents spoke the former and at least one of them probably spoke the latter? Nothing other than what Google Translate tells me, which is that the Scottish Gaelic for whisky is uisge beatha. Anyway it passes the time until we learn just how much those whose technological utopianism and laziness (cf today's NYT editorial) helped mess up the Clinton campaign have now messed up Iowan, Democratic Party, and perhaps even US politics, not to mention the future of humanity.
