Thanks very much. I particularly enjoyed this last one. I've heard it said that Kant "refuted" Hume. Better, I think, to say he took Hume to the next level. Your example of the seven word sentence was excellent. It clarified that crucial distinction between them. My fantasy is that if the two had ever met, and Kant made his point about the unity of the self, Hume would have agreed.
